Our business areas along the value chain
The TATEKU Group is currently undergoing structured development - focussing on an active presence along the entire forestry and timber value chain.
Even though our current company portfolio is currently focussed on wood processing and finishing, we are actively working on integrating the forestry sector to a greater extent in the future through strategic investments and cooperations.
Looking at the forestry and timber value chain, the TATEKU Group has the following portfolio:
- From seed to seedling: Production of tree seeds, climate-resistant tree species, vertical farming
- From seedling to tree: Site-adapted afforestation to increase the biodiversity of the forest, AI-supported forest management and utilisation of the entire tree as a valuable natural resource
- From tree to timber construction product: Wood processing for modular construction, especially for multi-storey residential buildings, hotels and tiny houses
- From waste to raw material: Commercial utilisation of agricultural, forestry and timber industry residues by converting them into green carbon and bioliquids through pyrolysis.
Our specialised subsidiaries
The subsidiaries of the TATEKU Group specialise in different segments of the timber and forestry industry. By working closely together, they create synergies that enable sustainable innovation and economic growth.
[HolzWerk³] is a brand of the TATEKU Group GmbH, which specialises in serial modular timber construction, and high-quality Timber frame construction has specialised in. With [HolzWerk³], we realise sustainable construction projects with industrially prefabricated timber modules - efficiently, precisely and turnkey on request.
In serial timber modular construction, we realise individual living space wishes with passion and care - on time, customisable and with a clear focus on quality, sustainability and customer satisfaction. The services at a glance:
- Educational facilities: Modular solutions for daycare centres and schools - with an ideal room and learning climate
- Hotels: Flexible, sustainable building concepts up to building class 5
- Commercial property: employee housing, social buildings and more

With TATEKU Innovation, an internal R&D incubator, the Group advances technological developments that optimise the entire value chain. The focus here is on increasing efficiency and sustainability in order to optimise the European forestry and timber industry to shape the future. The company focuses on research and development in five key areas:
- Smart Planting - Intelligent production of seedlings for climate-resilient forests.
- Smart Forestry - Digital solutions for sustainable forest management.
- Smart Timber Products - Innovative wood products with added value.
- Smart Carbon Products - CO₂ storage and biogenic alternatives to fossil materials.
- Smart Industry - process optimisation for resource-saving production.
Another important step was the founding of the subsidiary CR-Systems GmbH in December 2024. CR-Systems GmbH develops and distributes Pyrolysis plants and pyrolysis products on an industrial scale and thus makes an active contribution to CO₂ reduction.
