PROJECTS

Tiny Living Park Kümmersbruck

The Tiny Living Park in Kümmersbruck impressively demonstrates what modern construction can look like today: within just three days, eight fully equipped residential units were erected – material-efficient, with a high degree of prefabrication and a short assembly time. Using modular timber construction from [HolzWerk³], flexible living solutions and spaces worth living in are created – implemented with high architectural quality and ready for immediate use.

R&D project BIOCHARm

According to a UN report from 2023, the global construction sector is responsible for 37 % of global CO₂ emissions. In order to achieve the Paris climate targets, these emissions must be drastically reduced and carbon must be integrated into sustainable utilisation concepts in the long term. Pyrolysis is a promising negative emissions technology that not only removes carbon from the atmosphere, but also stores it permanently. Green carbon, obtained from biogenic raw materials through pyrolysis, could contribute to carbon storage in the construction sector and make ecological building materials possible.

R&D project PyrOil

The consumption of fossil raw materials for the production of fuels and combustibles as well as for numerous products in the chemical industry in Europe is around per year (as of 2023). This corresponds to around 1.7 billion tonnes of CO₂ that are released when these resources are used and pollute our environment.

A promising alternative is the pyrolysis of biomass, as the bioliquids produced in the process can become an alternative to fossil raw materials in the future.

NIU Hotel Passau

In spring 2024, the NIU Hotel Passau was realised as a modern construction project using hybrid modular construction. The team from [HolzWerk³] was heavily involved in the implementation and manufactured over 160 fully equipped wooden modules. Upon delivery, these were already furnished and equipped with building services infrastructure. Thanks to the plug & play principle, the modules could be directly installed and finally connected – an innovative approach for efficient wooden modular construction in the hotel industry.
